Myla was born and bred in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, a geographically small but a politically dynamic town where everyone knows everyone, to an elementary school teacher mother and a company guard/Barangay Kagawad dad. She grew up in an academic-conscious home, that encouraged her to graduate salutatorian and Batch 1986 President in elementary, valedictorian and Batch 1990 President in high school, and Dean’s lister with two (2) full academic scholarships and Batch Vice-President on college years.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy and PRC license in the Philippines in 1995. She has a post graduate units in Public Administration and Education before coming in the UK last 2003. She is currently working as a Senior Physiotherapist in Hertfordshire with clinical expertise in cardiac rehab, amputee, dementia and respiratory area. She has a very fulfilling physiotherapy profession with in between teaching in the last 21 years and plans to retire in 12 years.
She is extremely proud when chosen as one of the volunteer physiotherapist in Olympic Village during the London 2012. She is a mother of two wonderful kids, John and Mary, and married to a fantastic husband, Joseph.
