PinLon Holds Celebration of 7th Year Anniversary

The Pinoy Londoner (PinLon)Volleyball Club  dubbed the celebration of its 7th Anniversary as “Pin-Lon@7: Anniversary Special, Star Awards and Charity Gala” held on May 28, 2016 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington, London.

The event was made more special by the presence of Alyssa Valdez and Grethcel Soltones as Guest Speakers. Ms. Valdez and Ms. Soltones are multi-awarded UAAP and NCAA volleyball superstars, respectively, in the Philippines.

The duo have become instant celebrities when they showcased their prowess and skills on the volleyball court. They have been featured in magazines and television networks and have endorsed commercial products.

Also gracing the event is Maritime Attaché Arsenio Lingad II from the Philippine Embassy in London, who gave some inspiring words to the attendees.

Aries Nuñez, who heads PinLon led the awarding of plaques of appreciation and commendation to the guest speakers and individuals who gave an all out support to their programs, projects and activities.

The beneficiary of the proceeds of the charity gala is the town of Zumarraga in the province of Samar for projects aimed to help the constituents.

According to its Facebook Page, PinLon’s objective is to provide people delivering sport or physical activities, organise and promote the playing of volleyball in the community, both as a social activity and in competitive events at all levels to meet the needs of its members.”

Founded in 2009, its members include Pin-Lon Spikers, Pin-Lon Lady spikers, Pin-Lon Men Spikers, Hawthorns and Wild Eagles.
